My dad believes you should never do business with someone you haven’t met. And I would have to agree. Though I happily sold Tony Pinchuck’s prints for a year we had never exchanged more than emails. We finally sat down for a coffee and I discovered the delightful man behind the clever caricatures of the Animabilia illustrations and a new, more whimsical ‘Africa Dreaming’ range. Tony is a respected Cape Town-based artist and designer as well as an erstwhile travel writer and cartoonist. He has somehow managed to blend all of his interests into his distinctive range of art – a fresh take on Victorian prints and touristic pictures. Tony’s work merges antique prints and traditional pattern into contemporary and quirky images, which he has applied to stationery, fabric and fine art prints.
